Terrain Cards

Players can move around on the Battlefield including moving onto the other player’s side. Depending on the number of players 15 or 16 terrain cards make up each player's side of the Battlefield. In a 1v1 game, players create 3 rows of 5 terrain cards.  In a 2v2 co-operative game, each player creates 3 rows of 5 terrain cards. In a 3 player free-for-all game, players create 4 rows of 4 terrain cards (in a T-formation). In a 4 player free-for-all game, players create 4 rows of 4 terrain cards (in a square shape).

Spellbook Cards

Spellbook cards are identified by the blue text on the upper right side of a card. Spells can be used by casters on the battlefield using Spiritual Energy (mana). Some spellbook cards can also be played by a player at any point during the game (even on the opponent's turn).

Treasury Cards

Treasury cards are identified by the orange text on the upper right side of a card. Treasury "ïtem" cards can be equiped to other units on the battlefield (maximum of 1 per unit unless they have dual wield). Treasury "gold cards"can be played by a player once each turn to add more gold to a player's tally.

Barrack Cards

Barrack cards are identified by the red text on the upper right side of a card. Units are spawned on the battlefield using spawner terrain cards. Players have to pay gold to bring the units onto the field (based on the gold coin) located on the brown bag on the bottom left of a card.

Token Cards

Token cards are identified by the grey text on the upper right side of a card. Tokens can be used by players when summoning special units or casting certain spells.

Gold Coins

Each card has a value of “gold coins” that is used for deckbuilding based on the brown bag located on the bottom left of each card. In order to insert a powerful card you would have to remove the equivalent value from the deck.  This system ensures better balanced play.

Health Chits (Hit Points), Mana Chits (Spiritual Energy) and Kill Points

Hit points (health from a card), mana (Spiritual Energy tracked off to the side) and Kill Points (the total kill points from cards placed in the cemetary) need to be tracked using dice or the Heroes of Karth App.

Playing Cards

The initial game will release with two core decks: The Warrior and Necromancer Deck. The Necromancer Deck also comes with some Token Cards which are kept off to the side when playing. Ten different decks are pre-made to help new players starting out. Players can buy separate "strategy"packs to tweak their decks to better fit their style of play (each pack contains 16 non-random cards).
